Alison Doody

Alison Doody, born 11 November 1966 in Ireland, is an actress and model. She made her debut in a feature film by playing a minor role in the Bond film A View to a Kill (1985) she went on to play anti-Nazi archaeologist Elsa Schneider, in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). Siobhan Donovan was Charlotte on Taffin in 1988 and Rebecca Flannery starred in Major League II in 1994. Doody began her modeling career after her being approached by a hopeful photographer. The career she pursued has transformed into commercial modeling. Doody strictly avoided glamour, nudity and thongs in her modelling career. When she was dragged into the sights of the casting director of the upcoming James Bond film she accepted a small part as Jenny Flex in 1985's A View to a Kill. Doody was named one of 12 Promising New Actors of 1986 by John Willis Screen World, Vol. 38. Doody, who was only 18 when she played the part of Doody in the film A prayer for the dying (1987) which starred Mickey Rourke. Doody is the tiniest Bond Girl to date. Another film from her early days had her in a minor role as IRA member Siobhan Donovan on A Prayer for the Dying (1987) that was a film starring Mickey Rourke. Doody played an unseen role as Archibald Craven's spouse Lilias as she appeared in the film adaptation of his fantasy, 1987's version from The Secret Garden. Her first lead role was in an episode from 1988 of the Jim Henson fantasy series The Storyteller as Sapsorrow with John Hurt Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders. The year 1988 was the first time she starred alongside Pierce Brosnan on the movie Taffin. Her most recognizable performance to date was her role as Austrian Nazi sympathizer and archaeologist Doctor Elsa Schneider opposite Harrison Ford in the 1989 film Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Doody is part of the James Bond family, having been in the film with Sean Connery and Jonathan Pryce in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Doody was co-starring with Jonathan Pryce, in the British miniseries Selling Hitler. The series was inspired by The Hitler Diaries publishing scam. Doody then relocated to Hollywood. It was her choice to succeed Cybill Shepard in the role of L'Oreal spokeswoman. She was later cast alongside Charlie Sheen as Flannery, his wife and agent as Flannery's girlfriend and agent in Major League II. Doody's first appearance on the screen was in 2003, when Michael Caine played Doody in a short role. She starred along alongside Patrick Swayze, in the 2004 TV film adaptation to King Solomon's Mines. Doody filming a character in Danny Dyer's 2010 film The Rapture. In 2011, she was to take on the role of lead in The Asphyx remake, but that project fell through. Pam Jefferson is her role in the E4 Comedy Drama Beaver Falls' first of two seasons. The show featured her in We Still Kill the Old Way in 2014, a documentary. The film was awarded the Almeria film award on 21 November 2018.
